about

Landscape is a huge influence on my practice. Not just the countryside or city around me but places that I have visited and even those in distant memories. With that in mind, I will be releasing a series of EPs that focus on what I draw from the environment around me. This is the first in that series and here, I explore a number of themes dear to me.

Field Boundaries details my fascination with the actual physical transitions between not only fields but also woodland or moorland etc. The way, light falls differently, birdsong changes and even the soundscape shifts between these contained areas. Tree Cathedrals is a reference to my love of Beech Trees and how they soar above us, pushing up to the heavens and meeting overhead creating nature’s own Cathedrals. Chalk, Flint and Willow Banks is a reference to my childhood and happy memories. I was always found in the ‘flint bedded’ rivers set deep in the chalk valleys that I grew up in.

about

Andrew Heath Stroud, UK

Ambient, piano based, lower-case music. Quiet and intimate - it explores sounds from both acoustic and electronic sources, along with processed field recordings and gathered, ‘found’ sounds. This music is not static though. It drifts. It constantly shifts and creates new maps that are full of change but listen carefully and you’ll also hear quiet, random glitches or shimmering dissonances. ... more
