Martyn James Stunning. Sublime and thoughtful piano amongst subtle field recordings meanders through a kaleidoscope of lost memories. Ambient throughout, it nostalgically ends up on a beach, full of sun shimmer and as that day ends we hear the inevitable crackle of the drift wood fire and a night shared with an owl. Fabulous. For fans of Slow Meadow, Stars of the Lid and Federico Durand. Really beautiful. Favorite track: The Summer Boys.

Roy Mattson Another fine album by Andrew Heath...strange, yet familiar ambiences hover and flicker; filling your listening space while sparse and colorful piano droplets accent complex emotions of hope, regret, contentment, and longing. Vague memories circle the heart. A very visual music that reminds me of being blinded by sunlight while gazing at dear landscapes, or the hazy face of a lover in the afternoon sun, or watching specks of dust float through shafts of light on a quiet afternoon.

Berkdrums This is a masterpiece that brings tears to my eyes and shivers down my spine... Roy Mattson (who's of course a great ambient artist himself) describes it really really well... this album feels like a safe peaceful place far away from all sad and horrible things going on in this world...

about

Intimate piano, treated field recordings and sparse electronics combine to create a sound journey through the cultural landscape of Europe.

Drawing on recent travels in Europe - the More-ohr-Less festival, organised by Hans-Joachim Roedelius in Lunz, Austria and visiting fellow musician and collaborator, Anne Chris Bakker in Groningen in the north of the Netherlands - 'Europa' portrays the quiet visual, musical and architectural details of a diverse, yet shared continent. Themes of travel and events are explored bringing quiet contemplation of our European identity.
